who we are
A.N.P.I.L has been a legal association in Italy since 1998.
A no-profit organization
with a regular membership of the Registry of Voluntary and
Non-Lucrative Social Utility Associations, known by their Italian
acronym ‘O.N.L.U.S.’
The main objectives, among others: cooperation activities
aimed at favouring development in Third and Fourth World countries.
A.N.P.I.L started its operations in 1991 in an informal fashion and
was later converted into a legal entity in 1998.
The Association saw the light of day as part of the
Istituto Gonzaga
in Milan, the educational branch of the Christian
School Brothers
Religious Congregation, founded in 1680 by
San Giovanni Battista de La Salle,
the Patron Saint of Educators.
The life and works of the Saint have been the guiding light and
inspiration of A.N.P.I.L; in particular, a great deal of attention
was paid to destitute and orphaned infants, their literacy and
educational processes which are indispensable for human growth.
As a matter of fact, the Association is housed within the premises
of Istituto Gonzaga.
Although A.N.P.I.L is based on Catholic values, it’s doors remain
open to all those who would like to 'join the fray' for helping the
less fortunate, irrespective of any ideological, religious and
political hues: in other words, A.N.P.I.L welcomes all people of
'good will'! |

where we work
Amongst the schools and Missions established world-wide, the
Christian School Brothers have been operating in Haiti
(Port de Paix) through the mission "Notre Dame de Fatima"; in
Mozambique
(Beira) through "Escola João XXIII"; in
Paraguay
(Pozo Clorado) through the mission "San Isidro Labrador".
Our group has interfaced with the above-mentioned missions over a
long time, specifically regarding:
-
Distance Support
for over 800 "Street Kids" in order to offer them decent living
conditions as well as educational facilities in their own city
- Logistic and educational Support for
local volunteers ("Les Rosettes" in Haiti and a great deal of
teachers in Mozambique and Paraguay) dealing with the educational
and moral upbringing of the adopted children
-
Micro-development Projects
in aid of local communities through the set-up of dedicated
structures (e.g. job centres, Shelters for the Needy...)
